Finally! Heroes will be back on tonight. Can’t wait. We will see what the new “hero” has to offer and what the heck happened to Skyler!

Water Intoxication

waterbottle.jpgAt first I thought that this story was just stupid but now I realize that it was just tragic. A local Sacramento woman died while trying to win a Wii game console during a morning radio show contest. The story is here: http://www.sacbee.com/101/story/108430.html if you need a username and password use beesucks and beesucks.

I was thinking with all the press about the Chico hazing incident how could anyone think this was a good idea? Well, maybe if they spaced the water out with smaller quantities it would be safe. Well, I guess not.

To top it all off, during the contest a nurse called to warn that it was dangerous to drink too much water but it was ignored by the radio station staff by the fact that the contestants had signed waivers although they were never warned that their health was in any danger.

nav.jpgOK, how about the idiots that are not paying attention but decided to follow the command of a satellite navigation system. Check this article out. It told me to turn officer!

At least he didn’t kill himself unlike this Darwin Award nominee that tried to electricute some pesky moles in his yard with a 380 volt power line.

BTW, What the heck is going on in Germany?

Drivers and DVD’s

dvd.jpgWTF! I am driving down the road and there is a black Escalade. I know it’s hard to believe… but here is the kicker. The dash has one of those radio/DVD players and the DRIVER is freaking watching a movie at the stop light. Then what about the drivers that decide to TEXT MESSAGE while driving! The California cell phone law doesn’t even go into effect until July of 2008.

Oh, add to that the crazy 70 MPH tailgaters that drive so close to your butt that you cant see their headlights at night… No wonder I need drugs…

1080i or 1080p (who cares!)

Posted in Occipital Lobe (Visual) at 2:59 pm by Jay

bigscreen.jpgI just installed a HDTV for my dad and after getting it all hooked up he looks at the crappy SD resolution (480i) and says “Why do I need HD? This is good enough.”

I have a tech friend of my talking about how he just has to have the 1080p instead of what I have currently 1080i. What is the difference you say? Not much other than one is interlaced and the other isn’t. I have been looking at Interlaced PC Monitors for years and can’t tell the difference so who cares!

On the other hand I just saw that some manufacturer is already going for a 2160p screen called Quad HD. Who needs it? So far just specific industries. When will it end?

Oh wait I just have to order that 4320p HHHHDTV. I can upload my 16 megapixel camera images on my 1TB Sandisk MiniSD Card. Gimme a break!

TV remotes and ADD

Posted in Cerebellum (Perception) at 12:33 am by Jay

zenith_spacecommand.jpgIt seems to me that we have breed this generation of children to have Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). The attention span of an Internet user is measured in seconds, it is amazing that they can watch a youtube.com video that is more than a couple of minutes long. I blame the TV remote control.

With the addition of 150+ cable and satellite channels, teenagers of today can waste and entire hour just flipping through the channels a single time. This in combination with fast that and instant this and a few extremes and you are all set to have your mind change channels a thousand times a minute. OK gotta go, I need to set my TIVO.
